DIAGNOSTIC TESTING

At Manalapan Spine Care and Rehabilitation, we are committed to finding the root cause of pain and dysfunction, in order to create a successful treatment program. We believe that valuable information comes from the patient. For this reason, our one-on-one consultation is vital. We take the time to listen and understand a patient’s health journey. We want to know about any concerns and symptoms, if an injury or accident has been sustained, what treatments or therapies have been tried, along with lifestyle choices. Then, we review an in-depth Health History and conduct various diagnostic tests and evaluations, which may include:

  • Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (MSK): Using sound waves, images of the musculoskeletal system are created. This is performed to help identify health conditions that affect muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons, such as Bursitis, Muscle Strains, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Tendonitis, etc.

  • Neurodiagnostic Testing (EMG/NCV): The test has two components and is usually done at the same time. The electromyography (EMG) measures and records the electrical activity of muscles. This is conducted to help assess muscle function along with the nerves that control them. The nerve conduction velocity (NCV) component evaluates the speed and strength of a signal as it travels between two nerves, via electrodes that are placed on the skin. This is used to detect nerve damage and disorders.

  • Functional Assessment Status Testing: Utilizing JTECH state-of-the-art equipment, we are able to measure and document a patient’s physical and functional improvements while under care, allowing for modifications if necessitated to expedite health goals.

Once diagnostic tests are completed, our Team will meet to evaluate the findings.
